Native Location:

Salvia sonomensis (creeping sage) is fairly common in our local chaparral areas and along roadside banks.

Plant Type:

Perennial.

Bloom Season:

May through June. Goes dormant from later in summer through the following Spring.

Irrigation:

Very drought tolerant. Will survive with no supplemental water, but occasional watering will defer dormancy a bit.

Size:

Salvia sonomensis creeps along the ground at less than 8 inches.

Soil:

Grows best in well-drained soil but will survive in decomposed granite and other unimproved soils.
